Oscar Toloza (b. 1992, Reseda, CA) is a Salvadoran-American painter based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Raised in Logansport, IN, his early interests in video games, music, and self-taught art cultivated a creative instinct that eventually led him to fully commit to visual art in 2019. Working across acrylics, oils, graphite, and spray paint, Toloza explores themes of perseverance, animal instinct, and humanity’s relationship with nature, blending surreal, dreamlike imagery with vivid, expressive color while creating meditative spaces for reflection and stillness. Influenced by Eastern art and pre-Hispanic traditions, his work seeks to bridge past and present while offering viewers a contemplative space to pause and reconnect, especially for those navigating in-between cultural identities. In 2025, he presented two successful solo exhibitions in Lafayette and Indianapolis, completed the Latino Artist Mentorship Program (LAMP), and exhibited work at the Eiteljorg Museum and Newfields Museum. Oscar has just moved to the Indianapolis area back in March and after PARALLELS he will continue expanding his skills by finding ways to incorporate 3d work into his paintings and dive into the medium of skin ala tattooing.
